Retro fruit machine simulators are like the marmite of the slots world - some people love the nostalgia and the simplicity, others wonder where all their bonus gameplay went. But Jumbo Joker from Betsoft might just be the game that has something for everyone. Played over two sets of 3 reels with a wide range of betting options, this multi-level machine has the possibility to pay out some huge rewards if the reels fall right and you push your luck just far enough. The bigger the betThe bigger the bet, the more you win - that was never more true than in Betsoft's Jumbo Joker. You’ll start on the lower set of reels playing either with 1 coin or 10 coins. You can see the paytable rewards to the side of the reels. Jumbo Joker is quite a good game for beginners who want to dabble in higher stakes play, as 10 coins isn’t earth-shattering but delivers some potentially lucrative rewards.
Oranges and lemonsEverything you need to know about Jumbo Joker is laid out on the screen - all the paytables plus two sets of reels against a blue background. We're in classic fruit machine territory, with cherries, lemons, watermelons and bells on the lower reels, plus the high paying treasure chests and jokers. Play at the maximum bet of 10 coins and you’ll stand to win 2,000 coins for 3 treasure chests and between 20 and 400 coins for three Jokers. So far, so fruit machine. However, every time you hit a win bigger than 20 coins, you’ll automatically be transferred to the upper set of reels, the Jumbo Meter. Unlocking the upper reels gives you the option to play at some higher stakes, 20, 40, 100 or 200 coins. At the upper levels, you’ll be rewarded with a centre reel that’s stacked with one symbol or reels covered with the same symbols for the most lucrative payouts available.
Game for a laughJumbo Joker has been optimised for iOS and Android mobile and tablet devices, meaning that it will load and play smoothly and without a hitch. If you like a cheeky spin on the way to work, then Jumbo Joker won’t let you down. In fact its retro graphics and fruit machine inspired gameplay work extremely well on a smaller high definition screen.
Jokes on youWe started by saying you’ll either love Jumbo Joker or hate it, and we stand by that opinion. It definitely tries to do something a little different from the tried and tested fruit machine simulator by adding some additional gameplay and staking levels which will add a frisson to the gameplay for more casual players. And the fact that you have unparalleled control over your level of risk and volatility means you can let the adrenaline flow or bail out at any time. It’s that flexibility and clever gameplay that we think makes this a more interesting slot than it first appears. So why not give Jumbo Joker a spin and hope the joke’s not on you!
