Push Gaming has gone Polynesian to bring you Tiki Tumble. Polynesia is a set of islands in the Southern Pacific Ocean - think Tahiti, Bora Bora, Samoa and Tonga. Tiki is the culture of the region - you’ll have seen those big stone totem carvings of Gods looking a bit grim. But there’s nothing grim about Tiki Tumble, where the Tiki gods come in red, green and blue ( it has to be said, they’re not exactly smiling) and really fearsome gold ones - which are definitely worth going after. The other symbols are highly coloured gemstones and a crescent moon. You’ve got five reels and twenty paylines and the game features nudging wilds, stacked wilds, and expanding multipliers with two wild reels, when you’re playing free spins. Read our full review below.
The nudging wilds feature starts when one or more wilds show up on one or more reels, in the top three symbol slots, before the reels start spinning. Once you start the spin, the wilds move down one slot while the other reels spin.
The scatter is the gold Tiki mask. Just to show it’s the boss, when it bounces into a slot, its mouth opens showing a lovely set of sparking gnashers. If you get three or more of the gold mask, on any reel or row, the free games feature starts up. When the free games are triggered, reels two and four are filled with wilds.
All wins that take place during the free games feature are multiplied. To begin with, the multiplier is 1, 2 or 3 - which of these you get depends on how many gold masks have landed. Every time the nudging wilds feature starts up, the multiplier increases. The multiplier is shown in a tab to the right of the playing area.
You can see that it’s very possible to get a big win! The free games continue until there are no wild symbols left.
The stacked wilds stay on the reels until the spins are exhausted. Once you enter the Tiki Bonus mode, you can get unlimited free spins. You start with two stacks, positioned in the middle, but further stacks are possible, and these in turn boost the number of free spins in total.
Just note that if you have a set of wilds on screen, and you decide to increase your bet level, the playing board is reset - the wilds are gone, and you’re playing from the start again, at the higher bet level.
So - the big Tiki with the red jewel is God of Gods in this particular game. If he shows up five times, you’re in for a 10x bonus. Four red Tikis and you get 3x, three times and you win 0.6x. Purple Tiki comes next in the ranking of the gods. See him five, four or three times to win 8x, 2x and 0.5x. Next in line is brown god with five, four and three yielding 6x, 1.6x and 0.4x.
Autoplay, RTP and volatility
Autoplay can be set for up to 100 spins - handy if you’re playing the game on your mobile while jammed into a commuter train!
The RTP (Return to Player) is 96.49% and the game has been judged to be of medium volatility. This is a measure of how much risk you are taking in playing a game for a set period. It says how often you can expect to win, and how big your win will be. Some games don’t pay out for ages - then pay out several times in a short period. That’s high volatility. Low volatility is when slots pay out regularly, but the payouts aren’t very big.
Made for mobile
Push prides itself on designing games that play brilliantly on mobiles. Formed in 2010, the firm produced its first game in 2012. Its recent games are developed using HTML5 to give optimised performance on mobiles.
Push partnered with Unibet to produce Bonus Beans, then launched Golden Farm for both desktop and mobile. The Humpty Dumpty title went live in 2016, to be followed by Peter and the Lost Boys and the ever popular Meet the Meerkats. Other Push titles include Gem of the Gods and Ultimate Dream Team.
The company has recently moved into progressive jackpots with its Powerforce games but have kept up its expertise in games for mobile, with Dragon Sisters. Forthcoming titles are Wild Swarm and Blaze of Ra. But the group is also venturing into wheel bonus games with a title called Wild Reel that features a money reel the player can spin.
Tiki Tumble is Push’s most recently released game. It has a nicely visualised theme with rich glowing colours and even a little bit of animation. The soundtrack features a great drum roll as you wait to see which wilds are coming your way. The gameplay is pretty simple and there’s no attempt to tell a story, as there is in more elaborate titles.
If you find that the Tiki totems are your thing, there are some other Polynesian themed slots. Tiki Paradise from Playtech doesn’t have the same level of visuals as Tiki Tumble, and features just 10 paylines. Easter Island from Yggdrasil has up to 103 paylines, brilliant graphics and an amazing soundtrack. Also, its Tiki totems look quite cheerful - in fact they seem to be having a whale of a time! We have hundreds of other free slots, so browse the full range and play on any device!
